A Little Hope
Here I am presenting you with my first piece of writing. I wrote this for a poetry competition. It is inspired from the happenings in the Middle East, especially that in Syria. It is written from all those individuals’ perspectives, who once lived a serene and calm life with no expectations of such a downfall. I hope you all enjoy reading this and comment by letting me know how I can improve and what you think of my idea.
A Little Hope
The moment seems to flow like molten tanzanite,
And the deep blue silence engulfs me.
Neither is there earth below nor sky above,
It’s just my breath, my heart beat and me.
Like the ray of sun shinning on the earth,
Like the taste of wet stone in the water,
Like a fish leaping on wet sand,
Like thirst drowned in a river bed,
Just a little hope of peace in the commotion still breathes.
Some sadness is a part of everyone’s life,
Some sunshine keeps everyone alive.
I want to be free like the wind,
My eyes are wet not without a reason,
They said every second is a new season.
The war has taken away the smiles,
It has broken the damn in everyone’s eyes.
Why do we always prove them right?
Do we have to make it a fight?
Let’s close our eyes and go back in time,
Flow freely like the river.
Let’s live the moment when our hearts were pure,
When no greed, no devil, no fear of omen could lure.
Let’s feel the peace we all have longed for all this time,
Let’s forget the past and make our future have a peaceful rhyme.
